ALI- SUPPORT WORKER/ MENTOR

HI! My name is Alison, usually everyone calls me Ali. I love feeding people, design, art, music & the beach!

Just before you think for a second there that I have a white picket fenced life- do not fear- it is far from!

CAN & ABLE started with me. My youngest son was diagnosed at age 4 with full mutation Fragile X, a genetic condition & intellectual disability which affects the protein in your brain that modulates emotions. Like most carers in this position I hit rockbottom and needed to say goodbye to work for a season, I have an education background and was finding it too demanding. After a good break I got into a support working role & loved it! It made so much sense to combine my lived experience with my knowledge & start CAN & ABLE.

For good reason I am passionate about helping families & individuals who are facing similar challenges achieve the best for their loved ones & lives.

I hope we as a team can come along side you & practically help & encourage you along the journey assisting you to achieve your goals!

JAKEB- SUPPORT WORKER/ MENTOR

Hi! My name is Jakeb, and I’m an enthusiastic and people-focused support worker with a big passion for helping others thrive. Coming from a family of support workers, their dedication has always inspired me, and now I’m carving out my own path in this rewarding field. I’m loving every moment of my first year in support work and am excited to be studying next year to expand my skills and knowledge.

Outside of work, I’m all about music, sports, and anything that gets me outdoors—whether it’s hiking, kicking a ball around, or just soaking up some sunshine. I’m also deeply family-oriented and value spending time with the people who matter most.

I believe in creating meaningful connections, having fun, and supporting others to reach their fullest potential. I can’t wait to get to know you!

Hi! My name is Kieran. I am 18 and am currently studying Occupational Therapy at university. I have been doing Support work for the past year and am passionate about sharing my enthusiasm and active lifestyle.

When I am not at uni or working, I am playing guitar, hanging with my mates or pursuing my passions for running and triathlons.

Whether it is going for a kick of the footy, accessing the community or playing board games inside, I would love to help you improve your life experience and you reach your goals in life!
